Dera Ballan trustees caught in
new row
WSN Network
JALANDHAR: After
getting flak from most sections of the Ravidassia comunity itself
for announcing divisive moves like announcement of a new religion,
the Dera Sachkhana Ballan near Jalandhar is now coming under the
shadow of a new controversy: the The All India Adi Dharam Mission
has alleged that the trustees of Dera Ballan had forcibly taken the
possession of Ravidassia community's central religious place, "Seer
Goverdhanpur", at Varanasi in 1993.
All India
Adi-Dharam Mission president Satwinderjit Singh Hira said the
trustees with the connivance of then Uttar Pradesh government threw
out members of the mission from the temple. "The mission has legal
right to arrange annual birth anniversary celebrations of Guru
Ravidass in officials records and the administration annually issues
permission to take out procession in the name of the mission but the
Dera Ballan is claiming this religious place as its branch, which is
wrong and a fraud with Adi-Dharmis," he added.
Hira accompanied
by general secretary Balwinder Bitta, joint secretary Balbir Singh,
cashier Amit Kumar and Punjab president Charan Dass said the
trustees of Dera Ballan have no legal right to issue any directive
from Seer Goverdhanpur, the birthplace of Guru Ravidass.
