San Jose Gurdwara again amid row
WSN Network
SAN
JOSE: San Jose Gurughar's prime mover Bob Dhillon has landed the
Gurdwara in a peculiar situation where it is now vulnerable to court
cases and much increased rate of interest on loans even as he fired
Chris Rael Sr. of Bay Area Construction Management who has now
resorted to legal avenues. It seems Rael had spoken to local
newspapers about his concerns regarding the work at the Gurughar.
The Jaswant
Singh Hothi group was throughout cautioning the sangat about the
possibility of the Gurughar facing a court case.
Rael, 48, and
his son, Chris Rael Jr., 25, were fired last month, allegedly after
they spoke out about mismanagement of the project and unwillingness
to hire skilled workers. In a chat with World Sikh News, Chris Rael
said he believes he was fired only for speaking out.
Bob Dhillon, 67,
a real estate investor and son of an attorney, has been associated
with San Jose shrine, the country's largest Sikh Gurdwara, which is
now set to expand even further, but it is this construction that has
led to so much controversy.
His decision to
appoint a 25-year-old San Jose State University construction
management student who lacks experience has also not gone down too
well with many in the community.
