LONDON:
The BBC has suspended for six months UK Sikh Hardeep Singh Kohli,
presenter of the BBC1 Show, after complaints of harassment by a
female researcher. The complaint was lodged about about Harpreet’s
behaviour two months ago. The six month period will be treated as a
leave of absence.
Kohli’s ban only
applies to The One Show and not other BBC programs.
The One Show,
hosted by Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, has become one of
the BBC’s flagship magazine programs, regularly pulling in six
million viewers a night. The turbaned Kohli had become one of its
main attractions.

star has appeared in a number of other high-profile shows, most
recently a two-part special called Famous, Rich and Homeless, where
he lived on the streets for three nights to experience the life of a
down and out.
He wrote a
column entitled Hardeep is your love for Scotland on Sunday, and has
since March 2007, covering topics as diverse as suspicions that he
is a terrorist and being ashamed of enjoying Harry Potter. He also
occasionally writes for The Guardian and The Independent. Kohli is
currently writing a book about food and travel in India. He was also
a Man Booker Prize judge for 2008.
