Medical camp at Yuba City Mela
WSN Network

Fremont: Sahaita Incorporation, Fremont, with the collaboration of Punjabi American Heritage Society, Yuba City and Healthcare providers from Northern California will be presenting a unique opportunity to the community at the Fairgrounds, Yuba City on 25th May, 2008 with a Health awareness clinic. Of course the clinic is no replacement for health insurance and no medications will be given at the site.

Harkesh Sandhu MD said that the focus will be on screening people for high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. Diabetes and Hypertension are being seen as a major affliction among the Punjabi community in USA as well as back home in Punjab, India. “This will be our organization’s first attempt to have such a clinic in an atmosphere where people usually come to have fun and enjoy, besides learning our culture,” he said.
