Connecting Sikhs to Gurbani only
panacea
WSN Network
FREMONT:
In an effort to connect ever more Sikh sangat with the word of the
Guru, the Fremont Gurdwara organised 15 Sri Akhandpath Sahib in
memory of the Bhatts whose bani is an intrinsic part of Sri Guru
Granth Sahib. A three-day non-stop recitation of
5 Sri Sukhmani
Sahib and one Japu Ji Sahib was also organized which saw the
participation of sangat from far and wide apart from the regular
Fremont gathering.
Later on, many
well known kirtanias of the Panth performed at the Diwan held after
the bhog of Akhand Path Sahibs. The traditional langar also
followed. Among those who spoke on the occasion were Bibi Sarabjit
Kaur Cheema, Gurdwara El Sobrante president
Bhai Gurbachan
Singh and Bibi Amitosh Kaur. Later, the women representing Kaur
organization talked about their work while Bhai Harjot Singh Khalsa
said the prime need was to connect the Sikh sangat with Guru and
Gurbani. He said that was one panacea in view of the deteriorating
conditions and drew attention to the menace of drugs in Punjab and
the increasing influence of deras back home in Punjab.
