off on 14 Nov
WSN Network
This
year, the Spinning Wheel Film Festival which houses a foundation for
filmmakers, film students, film goers and critics will present a
fresh batch of entertaining and educating films that challenge
conventional perspectives and complex issues facing Sikhs and the
world community alike. This year’s films will touch on topics such
as History, Dance, Humor, Current Affairs, and Sports.
The evening of
the 14th November will see the inauguration and its trappings of
introduction and interaction, alongside the launch of the 2009
Sikhpoint art Calendar “A Walk Through History”.
There will also
be a live auction of outstanding art pieces.
On day 2, at the
Writer’s Guild Theatre, will be screened more than 40 films which
are “Sikh-Centric” but offer a wide variety of interesting themes,
including animation, documentaries, and dramas.
On
day 3, there will be the hosting of the the Anglo Sikh Heritage
Trail by representatives from world renowned institutions. During
the course of the proceedings, there will be lectures and workshops
presented by leading curators of these institutions while they
discuss themes related to Sikh Heritage, documents and artifacts in
