Sikh valour on exhibition

IPOH: The Perak
museum here is offering a rare glimpse of Sikh soldiers in action
during the first and second World Wars. 'Sikh Bravery in Military
History -- Where Valour is a Tradition' features more than 300
photographs of Sikhs in action with the British Indian Army in
Malaya, Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Korea, China, the Middle
East, Africa and Europe.
The exhibition,
that has already begun from Nov 10 will continue till Nov 16, and
will also commemorate the 539th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev on Nov
24.
Organiser
Harchand Singh Bedi said the photographs were borrowed from
London's
Imperial War Museum, adding that the exhibition is a "once in a
lifetime" chance to learn more about the Sikhs' role in the world's
military history.
