
New Delhi:
A gurdwara sewadar in Delhi was
killed after a known gang of assaulters attacked him, demolished
gurdwara property, pillaged the premises and left the sewadar badly
injured who later succumbed. A shocked DSGMC has taken up the
cudgels and police has registered a case. The incident happened in
the heart of India’s capital New Delhi at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh
Sabha in Baljit Nagar on the night of November 22.
The local thugs Sunny Dutta, Sundeep Dutta,
Naresh Dutta and Babli Dutta forcefully entered the Gurdwara after
breaking open the main door, severely beat the Sikh sewadar Bhai
Prabhjit Singh, and later destroyed Gurdwara property.The sewadar
was wounded so badly that he had to be admitted to the Safdarjung
Hospital and put under an artificial ventilator. On December 3, Bhai
Prabhjit Singh succumbed to his injuries, never regaining
consciousness.
The DSGMC said the Dutta group that attacked the
Gurdwara Sahib belongs to a notorious family in Delhi and has
several criminal cases pending against it. The Patel Nagar Police
Station registered a case. A funeral procession from Gurdwara Sri
Guru Singh Sabha in Baljit Nagar to the local cremation grounds on
December 4 was taken out.
