Firm officials seek sangat's
support for bailout
WSN Network
FREMONT:
In an initiative aimed at garnering support to save the well known
Japanese company Lumi which is currently facing a crisis due to the
ongoing recession and threats of being moved out, closing down or
shedding jobs, Sikh community member Bibi Balbir Kaur Sull, a senior
advisor of the firm, and the company's employee union president Ron
Lopez visited the Fremont gurdwara to seek sangat's signatures on a
petition.
The petition is
meant to argue for either a bail out or other measures to save the
firm lest a large number of employees lose their jobs or the firm is
moved out of Fremont city, thus causing a huge loss.
More than 1500
people have signed the petition to be sent to President Barack Obama.
Bibi Sull and Mr Lopez addressed the sangat and briefed about the
possible losses in case the firm is forced to shut down.
