Sikhs to join in Dr. King’s Memorial

CALIFORNIA: Achurch memorial service with Sikh participation
will be held on Sunday 22 February from 2 pm onwards at the First
Congregational Church, near UCSC, celebrating the life and times of
scholar par excellence Dr. Noel Q. King.
Alongside family and friends, Sikhs of the region are being
coordinated by his long time associate and student Dr. Tarlochan
Singh Nahal, who would be reading the Sikh prayer in English at the
memorial service for the benefit of the non-Punjabi gathering at the
memorial service.
Dr. Noel Q King passed away on 1 February at his home in
California.
Family, friends, students and associates would be displaying
photographs with the renowned scholar, which will be placed on the
NQK (cork-) Board of history at the First Congregational Church
located at
900 High Street, Santa Cruz, CA.
Adequate space for parking is available and for persons
having accessibility issues, you can drive straight up from the
entrance into the upper parking lot.
The
University
of California, Santa Cruz has set up a Noel King Memorial fund
dedicated to the study of the world’s religions. All interested to
donate in his honour are requested to make checks payable to UCSC
Foundation (with King’s name as the memo) and despatch it to Liz
Sandoval in the Humanities Dean’s Office.
