been edited for reasons of clarity.
What are your
thoughts on the eve of the birth anniversary of Ishmeet Singh, when
he is not with us?
Manjot Kaur:
The only thing that comes to my mind is him and his talks. I had
collected all his pictures and a lot of them were sent by him
because he always sent me the new pictures, which were taken behind
the stage after the shooting was over. I had planned to put all his
pictures, videos and interviews together and give it to him as a
b'day gift. I wish I had already done that before and not waited for
his b'day to come because he was a special person everyday, not just
on his b'day! I regret that now. I wish there was a way to bring him
back!
Taranjeet Kaur:
I think 2 September will be ISHMEET SINGH SODHI day. That magic day
has gifted us an excellent human being with an impressive voice!
He's no more on this earth, but I see him every night from my
window shining in the sky! And I will wish him always, and I'm sure
that he will very happy with this.
Lakhvir Kaur:
I do not know what to say about this, but I think doing a Sukh
Shanti Ardaas at the Gurudwara would be better to pay tribute to
Ishmeet Singh.
Kim Dhillon:
He was so naive, generous, and delightful. I mean I don't have words
to express his personality. I'm very delighted that his birthday
will be celebrated. May his soul rest in peace. He represented all
of us. He lived in many houses and he'll always live. He will
always be remembered. He'll always live in our hearts. We love you
and miss you Ishmeet.
Bhupinder Kaur:
It's really nice to know that the Sikh community is going to
celebrate his b'day. He was a very high flier. May his soul rest in
peace. We will always love you. Ishmeet, we all miss you.
Phavanjeet Kaur:
Of course I didn't know him personally, but have seen him on screen
and I have always felt that he was so innocent and loving. I hope he
is in peace.
Manjeet Kaur:
Well, I think we should pray for his soul to rest in peace and give
his family the strength to get by each day with mental and emotional
peace.
Manmeet Singh:
There is not a single day after his sad demise till date that
Ishmeet is not discussed about, his singing talent and his
simplicity, something or the other. So he is still alive I believe
he is always with us in our hearts.
Ravinder Pal Singh/Sumeet
Kaur:
Why do you think he is not with us? He will always remain in our
hearts. We wish we could have a child like ishmeet as we do not have
a kid.
Jasmeet Singh
Bhogal:
I must say that we have lost a gem of a person from our community.
This is a permanent loss and the void created by his sudden death
can never be filled. Every living being has to die one day, but
Ishmeets' death in this way, has shocked the entire world, specially
his fans. Every Gursikh on a TV show reminds us of the great soul
called Ishmeet Singh. May Ishmeets' soul rest in peace. I, like most
of his fans, will never be able to forget him. Not atleast in this
life.
I wish God gives strength to his family to cope up with the
loss of their dear son.
I know all his fans are sad and heart-broken. But we have
mourned a lot. Now it is time for some action. Let’s join hands and
work for "Justice for Ishmeet".
Mahanjot S. Sodhi:
The emotions and feelings on the eve of Ishmeet’s birth
anniversary are very difficult to explain! I almost feel helpless
and at loss of words to say anything indeed. Just wish this was all
a bad dream and that the claws of death hadn’t snatched our dearest
Ishmeet from us. All I can say is that although Ishmeet isn’t
physically with us anymore he’ll remain in the hearts of millions of
his admirers like me forever.
Amrita Arneja:
It is highly unfortunate that he is not with us. It gave all of us a
huge shock when we heard he is no more. Even though we didn’t know
him in person we could make out that he was a person with great
character. One the eve of his birthday, I think we all should
contribute to a good cause that Ishmeet wanted to achieve and pray
that his soul may rest in peace.
Soni Kumar:
I would wish him a happy birthday and it is just sad that he cannot
celebrate his birthday and sad that he had to die at such a young
age. I will be thinking of him.
Kiran Kaur Dhillon:
I am very sad that he is not here with us. I pray for his family to
be strong.
Maninder Sanghera:
Ishmeet is not with us physically but he lives in our hearts
through his voice. I feel his birthday should be celebrated every
year; not often people like him are born. He was and is very
special person; yes we are all special in our own ways but he made
that effort to stand out from the crowd.
Abhineet Kaur:
It is very disheartening when we are celebrating his birthday
without him.
Pavandeep Singh:
My feelings are that although Ishmeet has gone, we cannot mourn as
we cannot bring him back. Such is the play of life. However we can
fight for justice through the online petition. We must work hard to
give more Ishmeet Singhs a chance.
Paramjit S. Cherra:
he is greatly being missed. He was an idol for many Sikhs and
people of all other religions!
Sarabjeet Kaur:
He was my friend. I met him last in Delhi just 3 days before he
died. On that day I discussed this thing that your birthday is quiet
near by, he replied "I did not even know that where I would be at
that point of time, may be would be performing somewhere, but that
too is fun because thousands of people will become part of my
birthday." But now I am feeling really sad I can’t even wish him
now. He will not be able celebrate his birthday ever again nor his
parents. May God bless them all those who loved Ishmeet.
Harjinder Singh:
Ishmeet might not be physically with us but will continue to live on
in our hearts. On his birthday I wish Wahe Guru Ji blesses the Sikh
people with more icons for the youth. I feel that he was sent on
this Earth for an assigned job and he has done it well. His birthday
is a great day for Sikhs who always wanted someone perfect to
represent them in the world of celebrities.
Gurpreet Singh Rana:
Firstly and foremostly, my thoughts and prayers go out to Ishmeet
Singh's family and his friends. Words alone cannot do justice to the
grief and trauma that they are going through at the moment. We pray
that Akal Purakh blesses his family and friends with the strength
and understanding to accept His Divine Will. However, this is much,
much easier said than done.
I would like to say that you should be very, very proud of
your son/brother/friend's achievements as his birthday approaches.
There are people all over the world who are blessed with many many
more years on this Earth than Ishmeet was. Yet, they are not able to
serve their community and their people in the manner that Ishmeet
Singh has. You grief and sorrow on 2nd September will be unbearable,
but your sense of pride should be unquestionable.
From the perspective of the Sikh community worldwide, again,
I feel that there is a deep and profound loss. I think Sikh families
who watched Star Voice of India (including my own) embraced Ishmeet
as one of there own because of his Sikhi saroop. And this in itself
was remarkable. Ismeet Singh's success was living proof that success
and indeed ACCEPTANCE in any industry (whether it be sporting or
entertainment) does not need to be divorced with Sikhi saroop.
Gurjot Keerat
He would have definitely become a force to reckon with and was
definitely gaining popularity. A young achiever who would have done
wonders with his simplicity.
Jasvir Kaur
I think not only this year but every year his birthday should be
celebrated in a big way for he was a diamond of Punjab, India and
the Sikh community.
Vaneet Singh
I don’t have many words to express my grief and sorrow. I cannot
imagine the condition of Ishmeet's family on that day. Let’s pray
for the departed soul and his parents and sister. May the Almighty
Waheguru bless them with strength to accept this “Bhaana”. Bless
you ISHMEET SINGH.

Himself takes them in His Loving Embrace. ||2||” (P-42, SGGS Ji)
Manpreet Singh,
UK:
I believe Ishmeet Singh's absence will be felt forever regardless of
his birthday or any other occasion which relates to him. It is
however an opportunity to think about him and appreciate his
presence on earth.
Zahida Virjee
Ofcourse I didn't know him personally, but have seen him on screen
and I have always felt that he was so innocent and loving.
