Sikh MIC leader Daljit
Singh sworn as Senator in Malaysia

LUMPUR: Daljit Singh Dalliwal, president of the Punjabi Business
Chamber was today sworn-in as a senator by Dewan Negara President
Tan Sri Dr Abdul Hamid Pawanteh.
48 year old Daljit
Singh holds a a Masters in Business Administration from University
of New England, United States and became active in politics when he
joined the Malaysian Indian Congress in 1989. He is Telawi MIC
branch chairman since 1990 and Federal Territories MIC executive
council member since 2005.
"The Sikhs have been
waiting for this moment this is an honour for Indians in general and
the Sikhs in particular, including my family" said Daljit Singh who
is known for his charitable and
community work.
