Bhai Daljit Singh slams BJP on Article 370 plans

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) has opposed the BJP's move to scrap Article 370 of the Indian Constitution if it comes to power and said it was of the pattern that the saffron party has displayed in the past as far as its treatment of minorities goes. Chairperson of the party's presidium Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu said instead of this talk about ending Article 370 status, the Indian political parties should be discussing how to make the federal structure stronger and decentralise powers so that various minorities and regional movements could consider themselves as part of a democratic set up rather than being under a muzzling, muffling Indian nation state that only speaks the language of force.
