Amarinder allowed to go abroad
WSN Network
Chandigarh:
Former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh will leave the country
on October 11. On Monday, justice Ranjit Singh of Punjab and Haryana
high court allowed him to visit Dubai
and
Britain from October 11 till November 30. He had sought permission
to go to Dubai to review an investment prospect and had stated that
he had to go to Britain for medical examination. Amarinder faces
charges of corruption and is accused in the multi-crore Ludhiana
City Centre scam.
Justice Ranjit
Singh, however, adjourned the hearing on the blanket bail for
Amarinder to October 15 as the counsel for the Punjab
government had sought time to file an additional affidavit.
Meanwhile, Amarinder’s counsel filed an affidavit specifying the
instances in which he apprehended arrest. His counsel had stated all
the instances in the court in earlier hearings as well. Amarinder
apprehended that he would be treated like his former media advisor B
