Protest parades in Canada, UK

VANCOUVER:
As part of the world wide protests to mark the 25th year of
Operation Bluestar, the Indian Army's attack on thousands of
innocent Sikh men, women and children inside the Golden Temple in
June 1984, a candle light vigil was organised in vancouver and some
5,000 Sikhs gathered in fromnt of the Art Gallery in downtown city
where a large number of Muslims, Tamils, Christians and ethnic
minority groups expressed solidarity with the Sikh cause.
Col (retd) G S Sandhu had specially
arrived from India while Dev Wright, the chief of the Amnesty
International assured the community of all help from his
organisation in its fight for justice.
Surrey's writer Inderjit kaur Sidhu
presented her book 'Honi Anhoni' to British Columbia Sikh Youth.
LONDON:
Thousands of Sikhs participated in the protest parade carried out
under the banner of Federation of Sikh Organisations UK and gathered
at the Hyde park of London. Sikhs had arrived from Birmingham,
Glasgow, Derby, Leicester, Gravesend, manchester etc and carried
placards and sported black banners and arm bands. Many human rights
activists also joined the Sikhs.
