Commemoration at Fremont: Be
Guruwallahs, follow the Bani
Satnam Singh
Khalsa
FREMONT:
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Operation Blue Star, 25
Akhand Path Sahibs were organised at Gurdwara Sahib, Fremont and the
sangat connected with the word of the Guru for three consecutive
days that ended with the bhog of the Paths and Kirtan diwans.
A number of
panthic scholars later addressed the sangat, recalling the dastardly
attack on the centre of Sikhism at
Amritsar that
proved to be a trigger for coming into existence of the Sikh Youth
of America organisation.
Bibi Gurbakhsh
Kaur Kahlon, the Supreme Council member of Gurdwara Fremont, said
the Sikhs battled the Indian Army then and have been battling the
Indian government's machinations ever since. Former secretary of
Gurdwara Fremont, Balbir Singh Sakhal said reciting and
understanding the bani of the Gurus was the real sewa of the Guru
and the panth. He said there was an urgent need for unity in the
panth.
Bhai Jaswant
Singh Khosa, who recently presented a hand-written bir of Sri Guru
Granth Sahib, his labour of love, to Gurdwara Fremont, said the Army
action saw destruction of many hand written birs and this was the
reason he undertook the effort. He said so far he has created four
hand written birs.
Satnam Singh
Khalsa said the battle of
Amritsar shall
not be over till the dream of the martyrs was fulfilled. Fremont
Gurdwara's Chief Sewadar Bhai Harjot Singh Khalsa said when the
Sikhs will start following the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in
their real intent, and the Quom qill all become Guruwalas, that
will be the say when the enemy will stop looking at us with any bad
intention.
He also
announced that to mark the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji
and the Ghallughara, 101 Sukhmani Sahib paths and Sri Akhand Path
Sahib will be organised on June 19, and asked the sangat to
participate with enthusiasm.
