Fremont gurdwara celebrates Bhagat Ravidass’ Prakash Diwas

FREMONT: The Prakash Diwas of Bhagat Ravidass Ji was celebrated with much enthusiasm and devotion at Gurdwara Sahib, Fremont. The Kirtani Jatha of Bhai Prapal Singh ji, Huzuri Ragi of Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, kathakaar Bhai Baljit Singh Sacramento, Kavishar Bhai Gurdev Singh Shahoke and other preachers also participated.

They threw light on the life and times of Bhagat Ravidass Ji and his revolutionary ideas in that age and time.

The secretary of the gurughar, Bhai Satnam Singh, strongly condemned the communal organization RSS and said it was trying to foment provocative ideas and ideologies. He also condemned the divisive moves of the RSS that were prompted by brahamanical agenda of dividing the Dalit fraternity. He said it was on the basis of the enlightenment gained through Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji that the dalit community can work towards its liberation from the caste based discrimination and those who are asking them to move away from Guru Granth Sahib were actually no friend of the Dalits and were instead traitors to the cause of egalitarianism as opposed to casteism.
