Sikh Youth of America reorganized

FREMONT:
Thirteen units of the Sikh Youth of America from all over the
country participated in the national panel meeting of the body held
at
Fremont
on 6-7 December. The committee re-dedicated itself to the creation
of an independent and sovereign state of the Sikhs and after taking
stock of the present Panthic situation, decided to undertake those
activities in future which would make it easier to achieve this
mission of the body.
The national
house unanimously elected a new set of office bearers and many new
sub-committees were also formed. Gurinderjit Singh from
New Jersey was
made the president of the Sikh Youth of America. The other office
bearers elected were as follows:
Working
Committee Members included Gurinderjit Singh President (New
Jersey),
Dr. Ranjit Singh, Secretary (New York), Gurmel Singh Dhesi, Sr.
Vice-President (Dallas
Texas),
Manjit Singh, Vice President (Stockton), Kulwant Singh Khehra,
Treasurer (Fremont), Balada Singh (New York), Pardeep Singh (Cartraits,
New Jersey), Santokh Singh (Dallas), Gulwinder Singh (Stockton),
Tejinder Singh Dosanjh (Yuba City), Jhalman Singh (Los Angeles). The
members of the Finance Committee include Kulwant Singh Khehra,
Tejinder Singh Dosanjh, Balada Singh and Gulwinder Singh. The
members of the Media Relations Committee who were elected were Dr.
Ranjit Singh, Harminder Singh Samana and Jaswant Singh. Members of
the Religious Affairs Committee included Santokh Singh, Gurmejh
Singh Gill, Jaswinder Singh Jandi, Jhalman Singh and Dhian Singh.
After serious
deliberations, a list of activities was shortlisted which were to be
carried out by the new working committee. The local unit president
Jaswinder Singh Jandi congratulated the panel members for their
long-standing contribution since 1984 to the cause of Sikh
independence.
