MANSA: A score of Sikh organizations have served an ultimatum to ensure closure of all dera branches in Punjab at the earliest or launch a struggle. They have fixed November 5, the last day of Gurta Gaddi divas celebrations, as the last date of ultimatum. Thereafter, to decide their next course of action, they would meet at Takht Damdama Sahib on October 2.

This was decided at a meeting held at Gurdwara Sulisar Sahib, near here. The Sikh organizations, led by SAD (Panch Pardhani) president Daljit Singh Bittu, had organized path of Guru Granth Sahib for ensuring victory over dera branch closure.

“Sikhs are silent because of Gurta Gaddi divas and would further intensify their struggle if their demands are not met within the given time. Sikh organizations would meet at Damdama Sahib on October 2 to decide the future course of action,” Bittu said.

Takht Damdama Sahib Jathedar Balwant Singh Nandgarh also attended the bhog ceremony and stressed the need of closure of all dera branches falling in Punjab. He lent his support to the cause. Bittu-led organizations had blocked Sirsa-Mansa road for the closure of upcoming Dera Sacha Sauda branch.
