Meltdown: Sukhbir finds who
messed up everything
WSN Network
CHANDIGARH: No
one has ever accused Sukhbir Singh Badal of being a top notch
data-crunching economic analyst or a financial wizard but the king
of neo-liberal economic model in Punjab has had the cheek to accuse
the economist duo of PM Manmohan Singh and Planning Commission
Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia of mishandling the economy in
the post-meltdown era. Sukhbir said the two were responsible for
loss of lakhs of jobs. So far, he has not held them personally
accountable for the fall of AIG or Lehman Brothers but it could be
because of his personal ignorance of such entities. Sukhbir banged
into such wisdom while speaking to some businessmen in Khanna last
week, and wondered "what kind of economists were running the
government who could not foresee the crash of the stock market from
22,000 points to 7,000 points, which again translated into loss of
crores of rupees for small investors."
He found a major
economic scandal lurking in the documents which even his alliance
partner BJP's whiz kids had missed. "UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi
owes an explanation to the people for Rs.50,000 crore missing from
the exchequer according to an affidavit submitted by the Comptroller
and Auditor-General to the Supreme Court," Sukhbir said. Senior
journalists complained that they had to make extraordinary effort to
suppress their laughter and the politicians should stop testing
their capacity at not giggling when such gems are flung on
unsuspecting hacks.
